Fundació Ynglada-Guillot established the Drawing Prize in 1959, which was the same year this institution was founded. Since then, the competition has been held annually through the collaboration of the Reial Acadèmia de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi and Fundació Vila Casas. It is currently presented as the Antoni Vila Casas–Ynglada- Guillot Prize.
The award promotes contemporary drawing in all its diversity, with an open call for both emerging and established artists. It aims to recognize artworks for their quality, particularly for their creativity, artistic research and excellence.
