Xicu Cabanyes is a sculptor who projects stylized expressionist figures, evolving towards abstraction through a language of organic forms and assemblages, alluding to the Pop Art of diverse objects. The artist held his first exhibition in 1965, with guidance from the sculptor Domènec Fita. He modelled large-format sculptures for public spaces from 1981 to 1991 while also began experimenting with new forms and materials without abandoning working with wood in its forest habitat.
