Sara Bonache has a Fine Arts degree from the Universitat de Barcelona. Her artistic work covers disciplines such as drawing and painting, with a particular focus on pastel technique. She is interested in the tactility and plasticity that this material invites us to explore. Her work researches the relationship between body and nature, dissolving the border between both iconographies and seeking new forms through metamorphosis and metaphor as a means to deepen our relationship with nature, our bodies and their life cycles.
She has presented her work in solo exhibitions such as La nit necessària at Galeria Marc Domènech as part of the Art Nou festival (Barcelona, 2025); Fertile Landscapes, at MXM Galeria (Madrid, 2023) and at Bombon Projects Showroom (Barcelona, 2022). She has participated in collective exhibitions at venues such as The Trophy Room (Los Angeles), FIR Gallery (Beijing), Kabinett Gallery (Seoul), Museu del Disseny (Barcelona), SENS Gallery (Hong Kong), CAC La Sala (Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona), Hew Hood Gallery (London), Rodzlo Gallery (Berlin), LAB 36 (Barcelona) and at Museo Carmen Thyssen (Malaga), among others. She has taken part in national and international art fairs such as BYI (Barcelona, 2024), Future Fair (New York, 2024), Art Miami (2024), Art021 (Shanghai, 2023), Art Busan (2023), Art Central (Hong Kong, 2023), UVNT (Madrid, 2023), Art and Breakfast Fair (Malaga, 2017) and ArtsLibris (Barcelona, 2021).
She was recently awarded the Antoni Vila Casas Painting Prize by Fundació Vila Casas in 2025. She has been a finalist in several awards over the years, notably Arts FAD (2021), Francesc Gimeno Painting Prize (2021), Fundació Vila Casas Painting Prize (2022) and the Novembre à Vitry International Painting Prize (2022). Furthermore, she won first prize at the Biennal d’Arts Plàstiques i Visuals del Garraf i l'Alt Penedès (2017).
