Lúa Coderch is an artist who trained in sculpture at Escola Massana, and graduated in Fine Arts and gained a master’s degree in Artistic Production and Research at the Universitat de Barcelona. She has garnered numerous scholarships and awards, most notably the CoNCA grant (2011) for research and creation in the fields of arts and thought, the grant by Fundación BBVA for the Creation of Videoart (2015), and the first ARCO Antoni Vila Casas Prize (2025). Her works of art make use of narrative approaches and objectual practices in videos, installations and performances which she configures as research devices. She questions her surroundings through a political and philosophical dimension. She has taken part in many solo and collective exhibitions such as those at La Capella in 2011 and Fundació Joan Miró in 2014, both in Barcelona; the Art Institute de Viena in 2017; at Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporanéo in Mexico in 2020; and the most recent ones, Exhausta y exuberante, held at The Ryder, in Madrid; and Sumari Astral at Fundació Joan Brossa in Barcelona, both in 2025. In 2026 she will exhibit at Museu Can Framis, Fundació Vila Casas, as the winner of the ARCO Antoni Vila Casas Prize 2025.
