Photographer with a synthetic, minimalist approach, capable of immortalizing a moment in time, a landscape or person with a single click of the shutter, thus creating immensely powerful images in which nothing is superfluous. In the sixties and seventies, there were important advances in colour photography, carried out in studios using artificial light. However, Samsó’s methodology was quite different as he chose to work in black and white using natural light, which created effects based on contrasts. He is well-known for his portraits of figures in the world of art and culture, but he has also explored other techniques such as culture and landscape reportage, thus becoming a multifaceted artist. He was deeply immersed in life in Barcelona in the seventies and eighties and focused on capturing the most unusual images of that time. He has held many exhibitions around the world. In 1979, he took part in his first exhibition, 4 punts de vista, alongside Joan Fontcuberta, Ferran Freixa and Toni Catany, at the Galeria Lleonart in Barcelona.
