Trained first at the Escola Taller d’Art in his home city, Tortosa, and then at the Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc in Barcelona. Nevertheless, he considers himself to be a self-taught artist as he enriched his training with regular trips and exhibitions throughout Europe. In the seventies, he developed his own artistic language and established an important career in geometric abstraction. Jaume Rocamora is notable for his creation of disciplined and rigorously structured, ordered forms, using drawing, collage and embossing, and his artwork offers a unique perspective on geometric space. He has garnered recognition from many institutions throughout his career, including the Bienal Iberoamericana in Mexico (1980) and the International Bilan Art Exhibition in New York (1982 and 1984).
