“Throughout Duran’s artwork, albeit to a lesser degree, we can see some images that are influenced by the last pictorialist Catalan photographers. These are photographs which are heavily focused on themes of the land and the sea, and the survival of traditional livelihoods, such as fishing. These images preserve the essence of Ricard Duran in relation to the light, gaze and balance, but without the rotundity expressed through the photographs in the New Objectivity or neorealist cinematic styles.” Eduard Bertran.
