CAN MARIO
Sculpture Collections
The permanent exhibition of contemporary Catalan sculpture at Can Mario (Palafrugell), renewed in June 2023, presents a new museographic perspective and, for the first time, includes many artworks that have been added to the Fundació Vila Casas’ permanent collection during the last six years.
The updated layout of the exhibition, featuring two hundred works of art, creates a dialogue among the whole collection that sits aside from the chronologies or currents of the works, in order to encourage new interpretations and appreciate the artistic relationships between generations. Most notably, the new collections are shown using innovative museographical criteria, more open and spaced out, with the aim of promoting each work in itself and make it more accessible to the viewing public.
The exhibition features sculptures by artists such as
Sergi Aguilar, Rosa Amorós, David Bestué, Pep Duran, Gabriel, Anna Ill, Antoni Llena, Gerard Mas, Xavier Medina Campeny, Joan Miró, Aurèlia Muñoz, Jaume Plensa, Stella Rahola Matutes, Amèlia Riera and Francesc Ruestes, among many others
