Palau Solterra is the Fundació Vila Casas Museum of Contemporary Photography (National and International) located in the town of Torroella de Montgrí in the Empordà region of Catalonia. It was opened in 2000. There are presently approximately 200 contemporary photographs on display by artists from around the world.
Palau Solterra is a 15th century palace that was the ancestral home of the Counts of Torroella de Montgrí. As well as the permanent collection, temporary exhibitions and a cycle of conferences on history and humanities are held annually.
From January 14th to November 26th:
Saturday: from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm and from 4.30 pm to 8.30 am.
Sundays and public holidays: from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm.
Easter: April 6th and 8th from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm and from 4.30 pm to 8.30 pm, April 7th from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm.
Summer
From June 15th to September 15th:
From Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays: 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm.
Access to the Museum until 30 minutes before closing time
Mondays (closed on Tuesday if Monday is a public holiday).
Easter: April 9th and 10th.
September 11th.
From November 19th, to January 13th, 2024.
Visitors who show a valid card confirming certain conditions or a membership to some entities have de possibility to purchase the reduced entrance ticket.
