Un altre món (Another World) is a collective exhibition presented in collaboration with the Fundació Lluís Coromina based on a proposal made in 2004 to various artists - Josep Guinovart, Albert Ràfols-Casamada, Xavier Medina Campeny, and Joaquim Chancho amongst others - that they provide, with tools of creation, their own unusual takes on the planet we live in.
The result is 44 sculptural works taking as their point of departure the shape of the globe to represent utopic, imaginary, thought out, manipulated, and metaphorical worlds that are vehicles of expression for aesthetic conception. Referring to the exhibition, the writer and journalist Margarita Rivière noted a tendency, “There’s a growing interest in seeing the world upside down and from latterly unknown viewpoints.”
