With a collection of more than thirty engravings made using the xylography technique – from the Greek xylo (descended from xúlon) meaning wood, and graphy meaning writing: hence woodcut or wood engraving – Trace and memory follows the gesture of a creator who finds their maximum expression in the drawing and the line. The fragmentation of the human body, the passing of time, and memory are the main themes of this artist who burst onto the art scene in the eighties in the twentieth century. The exhibition is part of the Fundació Vila Casas’ Itiner’Art programme, which includes the Espai Alfolí in L’Escala that now hosts this exhibition proposal.
