Que le ciel t’entende! (May heaven hear you!) by the artist Mario Pasqualotto (Barcelona, 1953) is a visual essay in which themes such as inequality, religious fanaticism and climate change are approached through the poetics of arte povera, or poor art, a style the artist adheres to.
Throughout his long career, Pasqualotto has explored a wide range of materials such as copper, lead, plastic and paper, bases which, along with literature, have allowed him to create artwork that is midway between reality and fiction, between what the eye perceives and what we actually see.
The current proposal, curated by Natàlia Chocarro for the Alfolí de la Sal space, features a selection of works belonging to different series on paper: La naturalesa odia la línia recta (Nature hates the straight line), inspired by the Portuguese writer Teixeira de Pascoaes); El nom de Déu és femení (The name of God is feminine); Cross de Cloud; and the sculptural installation that gives the exhibition its name and which evokes the exodus of the peoples.
