This exhibition dedicated to the multidisciplinary artist Joana Cera i Bernad (Barcelona, 1965) is articulated around concepts such as duality and immanence, and conceived as a retrospective on the main formalizations that have comprised the most transversal interest in her work: the positive exploration of the limit or the threshold understood (meta)physically.
Cera explores the relationship between apparent opposites through their spontaneous union, by combining different materials and concepts in order to analyse their confluences. She works with paradox to expose the internal contradictions of materials and question implied notions of the duality of the world. It is an exercise of almost Kantian synthesis that seeks to illuminate new perspectives and shape latent images through experimentation with the physicality of materials.
Exhibition curated by Natàlia Chocarro.
