Ricard Vaccaro (Barcelona, 1946) sculpts sensuality in a “combination of paint, colour, music, dance and light”, in the words of the critic Daniel Giralt-Miracle, creating a new and personal artistic mode. Luminous notes, elusive sounds and snatches of poetry find their sculptural equivalent, revealing their qualities in the material. His work is almost calligraphic, gestural and impassioned, while being of an organic and tenderly fragile character. This exhibition is a tribute to Vaccaro comprising five acquisitions made of his work between 2010 and 2014. It showcases his solid research into material and expression; as the artist puts it, “thoughts, visions, things we believe will happen” when talking politically.
