A self-taught painter, described by critics as heir to the Dau al Set group and international Surrealism, Porta Missé presents avant-garde work with an underlying linguistic element. Influenced by his father, a portraitist and lithographer, Porta Missé always protected his independence with respect to artistic movements and categorisation, becoming an unclassifiable artist working within the styles of the avant-garde. This exhibition is presented as a retrospective of his work and comprises some 30 pieces that explore themes as diverse as the female figure, Constructivism and insects.
