Winner of the Torroella de Montgrí Photography Prize 2011, awarded by the Vila Casas Foundation, Pedro Madueño (La Carlota, Cordoba, 1961) is exhibiting a personal selection of his most outstanding works in the temporary gallery at Can Framis.
Starting out in photography at the age of fifteen, his career has led him to press work and a role as a respected visual witness of the national political scene. Specialising in portraiture, Madueño has concentrated his photographic work on the search for the defining personal features of his subjects. The subtlety of his vision and his need to position his sitters in their immediate surroundings lend his work a new dimension totally devoid of all pretension.
