On 13 June the winner of the 2015 Palafrugell Sculpture Prize, which is awarded annually by the Fundació Vila Casas, was announced. Glòria Bosch, director of art at the Fundació Vila Casas, made public the names of the winning artists: with First Prize, consisting of €15,000 and a solo exhibition at the Can Framis Museum of Contemporary Painting, going to Gerard Mas (Sant Feliu de Guíxols, 1976) for his piece Nano, and a second prize of €3,000 going to Lluís Carulla Ruiz, born in Barcelona, for Partitura blava. Both works will become part of the Can Mario sculpture collection.
An exhibition of 32 pieces shortlisted from over 300 entries will be on display until 29th December in the temporary gallery at the Can Mario Museum, gathering works by d’Evelí Adam, Nei Albertí, Alfonso Alzamora, Emili Armengol, Lluís Carulla, Eduard Casademont, Jordi Gich, Gerard Mas, Joan Navarro o Agustí Penadès, among others.
