With an abstract line and compositional balance that alternates between impulse and rationality, Sergi Barnils (Bata, Equatorial Guinea, 1954) returns to the use of classical Greek and Roman encaustic painting in order to conjugate the materiality of painting with a dream of meeting the transcendent. Light, colour and emotion create in “Sergi Barnils. Maran ata”, curated by Glòria Bosch, a stronghold for admiring the gesture and agitation of the spirit.
