The collector Rafael Tous (Barcelona, 1940) is the archetype of the vocational collector. He does not buy for immediate interest, nor for posterity, but rather out of a sensitive and intellectual affinity with the artists who are his contemporaries, despite the fact that his collection is much more extensive. It is a collection of collections, which includes black art as well as old postcards, photographs, magazines, etc. However, it should be noted that he was able to abandon a traditional line to devote himself enthusiastically to artists who promoted the art of ideas, beyond the materiality of the object itself, and has become, without a doubt, the collector with the best collection of Catalan conceptual art.
