Opening: Saturday 7th February, 12 p.m.
Antoni Forcada (El Vendrell, Tarragona, 1950) embarked on his artistic career through painting, but was soon drawn to working with volume and material and developed his own language that fills spaces based on a creative freedom and great sensitivity for the place. He creates ephemeral works of art using found materials such as wood, cables and everyday objects. He has exhibited in museums and publics spaces, such as Fundació Joan Miró, but the core of his work lies in the intimate dialogue between his hands, the materials and the landscape.
The landscape, not merely as a visual setting, but as a source of vital and emotional inspiration, becomes the central axis of his work. Forcada absorbs and reinterprets it, expresses its soul through light, colours, textures and forms, transmitting sensations and emotions linked to the territory. His sculptures and installations are ephemeral: Forcada builds, observes and dismantles his works thus placing greater value on the creative process than the permanence of the artwork, and on the intimate dialogue between his hands, the material and the landscape. His work becomes an emotional diary, in which nature and soul intertwine, reminding us that art is, above all, a sincere expression of feeling and a celebration of the fragility of the creative process. He creates from an enthusiasm, necessity, and love for what he does.
