Curated by Fina Caus, Mercedes Durbán and Glòria Bosh, the exhibition of Josep Cisquella (Barcelona 1955 – 2010) “Please Do Touch” is a homage to not only his work but also his approach which was capable of uniting a life and a body of work. Representative of New Realism, Cisquella’s universe is nourished by everyday elements imbued with a subtle poetry that places us at the threshold of perception. Via some thirty works containing the artist’s iconic subject matter – corners, façades, pavements, shadows and tarmac – the thread of the exhibition leads us through Cisquella’s quest to capture the true essence of things.
