The work of Xavier Escribà (Paris, 1969) is characterized by transgressing the limits of traditional painting by rolling, creasing or accumulating and creating something new, transgressive and devoid of premeditated form.
The exhibition "Éloge de l'amour", curated by Glòria Bosch and Página 23 / Art i Utopia, presents several works by the artist arranged under the focused gaze of 17 authors from different disciplines not always related to the world of art. A lawyer, a physicist and an art historian, amongst others, are responsible for talking about this colourist work created with layers of colours that are stratigraphically displayed, revealing both layers of acrylic paint and the support, which has forsaken its supportive function by enthusiastically sandwiching itself between paint.
