Poblenou on Screen is a photographic installation conceived in a physical format and online, and produced by students on the Master in Photography and Design, at Elisava in 2021-2022, for Can Framis, in collaboration with Fundació Vila Casas.
Envisaged as a visual anthropological project with the collective signature of the students on the Master in Photography at Elisava, Poblenou on Screen presents a plural vision of the characters and human gatherings that take place under the skyscrapers and old factories in 22@, Barcelona’s groundbreaking technological, creative and scientific district.
As artists working in the world of the image, who systematically use technology, the authors of the exhibition acknowledge the crucial impact that devices with screens have on our experience of the world around us, on communication and exchange of information, as well as the potential they hold in cities to reinforce individual and collective identity in the two square kilometres of the 22@ district.
The exhibition is directed by Pedro Vicente, director of the Master in Photography and Design at Elisava, and has been created by the following artists: David Carrasco, Ana Luísa Chitolina, Sigríđur Fransiska Friđriksdóttir, Miguel Hernández Toste, Fredderick Karabela, Carlota Kristensen Illán, Magdalena Lennon, Meghan Mathews, Marianna Pineda and Emma Rahmani.
