Artistic heir to the painter Ramon Casas, Arquer Buigas (Cerdanyola del Vallès, 1932 – Barcelona, 2012) produced work characterised by the creation of melancholy atmospheres with impressionistic brushwork. The Espai Volart is holding an exhibition consisting of over 60 pieces by this painter whose personal interpretation of the feminine figure – a theme central to his work – as well as landscapes, everyday scenes, portraits and equestrian paintings won warm critical praise.
