Fundació Vila Casas has been donated a set of sculptures by the graphic designer and sculptor Joan Pedragosa (Badalona, Barcelona, 1930–Barcelona, 2005). The exhibition Beta & Co presents a group of works composing fifty-three prototypes, five small-format scultpures and a large-format steel artwork entitled Beta. The latter monumental piece, a homage to his partner Beta Albuixech, was made in 2001 with the support of Pere Casanovas – who has been recognized as the maker of numerous works by great sculptors – and helps us understand the essence of the project: how, based on the initial models, we can imagine the completed artworks.
With the incorporation of these works into the collection and the holding of this exhibition, the Fundació Vila Casas seeks to recognize the sculptural side of this artist, and his career by making his work accessible to the general public.
