The exhibition Babelia & Other Stories brings together the latest work by the architect and sculptor Stella Rahola Matutes (Barcelona, 1980). Curated by Glòria Bosch and Mercè Vila, the show reformulates, through the continuous study of technique, the resistance and limits of material - with porcelain, glass and metal taking centre stage.
The sculptor's work becomes a construct transmuting the limits of form, with the sought-after resistance rebelling as an eclosion, as if the resulting object were suspended in mid-air in an attempt to immortalize, as a frozen image, the peak of its own absolute beauty and, consequently, show itself at a point of total balance.
