Fundació Vila Casas has aimed to promote contemporary artists and disseminate their work ever since it was founded in 1998.
In accordance with this aim, the Foundation organizes an annual prize that is awarded on an alternating basis in each of the three disciplines in contemporary art: Painting, Photography and Sculpture. Over the years, the prizes have enabled us to raise the visibility of most recently created art whilst also adding to our permanent collection.
Thus, in 2025 the Antoni Vila Casas Prize will be for Painting, and will be held at Museu Can Framis. For the second year running, it is named in honour of the institution’s founder, in tribute to his career and contribution.
The shortlisted works, chosen by a jury, will be exhibited at Espai A0, Museu Can Framis, and the winner will be declared on 22nd September 2025 at the exhibition’s opening ceremony.
