Rooms 1 and 2 of the Can Mario Museum of Contemporary Sculpture are housing an exhibition by the sculptor Francesc Torres Monsó (Girona, 1922). The show is part of a homage including other exhibitions and events to Torres Monsó who will be 90 this year. The linking theme of the exhibition is the reading of a text by the sculptor Arístide Maillol that Torres Monsó made at the beginning of the 1940’s which proved to be crucial to his creative development. The recreation of his living space – his reading table as well as notes, pictures and clippings - is part of the first room of the exhibition while the second displays a selection of mock-ups and test pieces. Finally, the exhibition closes with a selection of fifteen sculptures from different periods of the artist’s creative life.
