Entry rules for prize: Ynglada-Guillot Award (2026)

This competition is open to any artist who is at least 18 years old. An indispensable condition is that the submitted works must be original and have not previously been presented in an exhibition or other competition. Only one artwork may be submitted per contestant.

 
2. THEME

The theme is open.

 
3. TECHNIQUE

Free contemporary drawing, which includes the visual arts, illustration, architectural drawing or comics. It must be a black and white drawing, using brush or pen on paper, preferably with Indian ink. Drawings using pencil, fountain pen, common ink, sepia and sanguine will also be accepted.

The size of the drawing will be between 40 x 40 cm and 90 x 90 cm.

The judging panel will review the submitted works and make a selection of shortlisted entries.


7. THE SHORTLISTED WORKS, DULY FRAMED, MUST BE SENT TO THE SECRETARY’S OFFICE OF FUNDACIÓ YNGLADA-GUILLOT.

The shortlisted works will be reviewed and the winning entry, and any second prizes, will be decided upon. They will be exhibited in a room at the Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc from 29th September to 9th October 2026.

9. SUBMISSION OF ARTWORKS AND TRANSPORT

Fundació Ynglada-Guillot will contact the shortlisted artists by e-mail in mid-June.
The artworks must be delivered:

- The selected drawings must be framed with a maximum of a 2 cm strip and the drawing must be protected with methacrylate or similar, but never with glass or left unprotected. The framed artwork must not exceed 92 x 92 cm. Artworks that are covered with methacrylate that is only held in place with screws or metal clamps will not be accepted. The annex at the end of these conditions must be completed, in clear upper-case text, providing all the required details, and then attached to the reverse side of the artwork.

- Location: Fundació Ynglada-Guillot. Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi. Passeig d’Isabel II, núm. 1, Casa Llotja, 2n. 08003 Barcelona.

- Date for delivery of the physical artwork: between 17th June and 3rd July.

- Opening hours: 9.00 a.m. to 8.00 p. m., from Tuesday to Thursday; and 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on Monday and Friday. The artist will be responsible for all transport costs, including the delivery and collection of the artwork, as well as any damages that may occur in the delivery of the artwork, thus exempting the Foundation from any such costs or liability. The artworks that are delivered in person must be without packaging. The artworks that are sent must be duly packaged in such a way that the packaging can be re-used to return the artwork back to the artist. The Foundation will not be liable for any damages that occur in the transport of the artworks, and the costs incurred by any damages that may occur will be covered by the artist.
The Foundation’s secretary’s office will only guarantee the inclusion of the submitted artworks that have been received within the established deadline, regardless of the date of dispatch or the transport methods used.
The Fundació Ynglada-Guillot Board of Trustees will ensure the correct preservation of the submitted artworks but will not be liable for any damages that may occur due to involuntary causes.

The winning entry will be awarded a €5,000.00 indivisible prize. The drawing will become property of Fundació Ynglada-Guillot, which will donate it to the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi museum.
At the discretion of the judging panel, up to five second prizes may be awarded.
The judging panel may declare the prize void.
The winning artist grants Fundació Ynglada-Guillot the rights to image, communication, publication and reproduction of the winning artwork in any message or medium.

The decision of the judging panel will be announced during the awards ceremony on 29th September 2026.

The artworks that are not selected for prizes must be collected from 10th to 30th October 2026, from Monday to Friday, 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. If the artworks will be transported by courier service, the artist must inform the secretary’s office at Fundació Ynglada-Guillot in order for them to prepare the original packaging, and the artist must inform the courier service to arrange the return of the artworks to a specified address, payment due on delivery.
The artworks that are not collected within this time period will remain freely at the disposal of Fundació Ynglada-Guillot, without forming part of its permanent collection. The Board of Trustees will make a non-commercial use of such artworks, as it sees fit, and the artists will not have any right to reclaim them.

Participation in this competition supposes the complete acceptance of, and full compliance with, these general conditions of entry. The resolutions and decisions of the judging panel will be final, and not subject to appeal.
