Influenced by surrealism from a young age, in 1948 he held his first exhibition at the Sala Icària in Figueres. There he met Dalí and other artists from the Empordà, with whom he would collaborate for the rest of his career. His stay in Paris led him to experiment stylistically with cubism, but his painting matured with a very personal abstraction. He paints infinite, picturesque backgrounds and atmospheres, with wide colours that invariably represent the landscape of the Empordà. He was director of the Museu de l’Empordà, where his artwork is exhibited thanks to his collaborations with Dalí. His work also features in the permanent exhibition at the Teatre-Museu Dalí in Figueres.
