Sculptor, set designer and artistic film director who works on set design and costumes. He began training at the Escola de Formació Artística, in Vilanova i la Geltrú, and went on to study scenography and costume design at Escola Superior d'Art Dramàtic, in Barcelona. Throughout his career he has worked with concepts of space and narration, the passage of time in search of a collection of objects and memories that surround our everyday lives and which seek to escape from oblivion: stories without words, lost and misplaced items and fragments, which mould together in new locations and create new allegorical references. In 1989, he was awarded the Premi de Cinematografia from the Generalitat de Catalunya for best technician, and in 2005, he won the Premi Serra d'Or for best show.
Ricard Duran’s photographic oeuvre – one of the least known in Catalan photography – was mainly created in the 1950s and 1960s, taking a modern and personal view of the society of which he was a contemporary. Most of his portraits are compositions whereby the person (or a trace them) interacts with their surroundings, always from a distant position and precisely framed. He was a member of the Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya and a co-founder of the Càmera Club Sabadell, dof the "Federación Española de Arte Fotográfico", of the Féderation Internationale de l'Art Photographique (FIAP) and the Photographic Society of America. In 1960 he was gained the prestigious recognition as Artist of the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (FIAP).
Born in France but emigrated to Israel where he lived until 2004, Enkaoua develops a personal painting, which stands out for its perception of light and colour. His works, which he currently creates in Barcelona, usually represent objects, or the artist’s friends or relatives, moments that are reflected forever under a mysterious atmosphere, midway between abstraction and figuration. The poetic dimension that his pieces acquire, as well as the subtlety of his palette and the use of a consummate technique, make his pieces complex productions that show the artist’s most intimate and sensitive intentions.
