Can Framis, Barcelona
Payzee Mahmod, a Kurdish activist campaigning for child protection and against forced marriage, presents an intimate talk on vulnerability and empathy as we seek to rebuild our perspective on others following painful experiences such as diaspora, loss or institutionalised violence.
Mahmod’s performance moves between silence, speech and collective participation. Through simple, symbolic gestures, the activist invites us on a journey towards empathy: a safe space from which to ask ourselves what we have set aside in order to truly find ourselves.
