Photography and historical memory
Using an excerpt from the text that Cynthia Young (curator of the Robert Capa Archive at the International Center of Photography in New York) wrote for the catalogue for the exhibition Under the Light of the Sea by Espe Pons, we will analyse the importance of photography in the recovery of historical memory, to ascertain the role of art in the denial of truth.
The round table will include Vicenç Altaió (poet, essayist, art critic and also author of one of the texts for the aforementioned catalogue), Jordi Font (director of the Democratic Memorial for the Generalitat de Catalunya) and Espe Pons; and will be presided by the journalist Montse Frisach.
This event takes place alongside the exhibition Under the Light of the Sea, by Espe Pons, which you can see at the Museu Palau Solterra in Torroella de Montgrí until 22nd November.
