Museu Can Framis hosts the presentation of the book Arte y transformación. Una mirada de fin de siglo (Art and transformation. A view from the end of the century), which brings together articles published by Jesús Martínez Clarà, from 1980 to the present day, along with twenty-five drawings by the artist Isidre Manils. The author will be joined at the presentation by Raimon Arola, Jordi Ibáñez Fanés, Isidre Manils and Antoni Marí, to reflect upon the idea of change and transformation as it relates to art at the end of the twentieth century and the path towards a new paradigm for the arts in the twenty-first century.
Jesús Martínez Clarà. Professor of Art History and Theory at Escola Massana, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Eina, all in Barcelona. Writer, art critic and curator.
Isidre Manils. Painter and author of the images that accompany the text in the book.
Raimon Arola. Doctor of Art History and professor at the Facultat de Belles Arts, Universitat de Barcelona.
Jordi Ibáñez Fanés. Professor of Aesthetics and Philosophy at the Facultat d’Humanitats, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona.
Antoni Marí. Professor of Art Theory at the Facultat d'Humanitats, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Poet, essayist and narrator.
