Xavier Valls (Barcelona, 1923–2006) was a Catalan painter from the Horta neighbourhood in Barcelona, and adhered to the Paris School. The centenary of an artist’s birth provides an excellent opportunity to remember them, their work and the most notable aspects of their personality. Espais Volart is pleased to host the presentation of Diccionari Xavier Valls, published by Ònix editor, which offers a biography of Xavier Valls as seen through a wide range of people, places and events that portray him and his life; reflected in the mirror of others.
The text is written by Luisa Valls and features writings by Xavier Valls himself. There are further contributions, which have been commissioned specially for this book, by Glòria Bosch, Cristina Mendoza, Juliet Pomés, Marilé Ruiz, Giovanna and Manuel Valls. The rest is by Josep Miquel Garcia, who promoted the project.
Speakers include:
