To celebrate Sant Jordi’s Day, we invite you to a poetry recital at Esther Boix’s exhibition A world in struggle, featuring the rhapsodists Nu Miret and Luis Posada.
Drawing on a selection of poems from Ricard Creus’s book Ahir d’amor i avui encara (2010), we will delve into the artistic world of Esther Boix as we stroll through the galleries accompanied by the exhibition’s curator, Bernat Puigdollers.
Esther Boix and Ricard Creus shared more than half their lives together, as a romantic couple but also as artistic partners. Ricard Creus (Barcelona, 1928 – Anglès, 2021) was a poet and writer, and Esther Boix (Llers, 1927 – Anglès, 2014) was a painter; their collaborations were frequent throughout their careers.
Ricard Creus’s book “Ahir d’amor i avui encara” brings together some sixty love poems that make up four parts or books: “Fruites del temps collides amb desgana,” “Poemes d’amat i amant,” “7 cançons d’amor i tot,” and “Deixant d’amor,” as well as an introductory poem and a text, “Agraïments d'ara, com a epíleg,” which closes the volume, further illustrated by a magnificent drawing by Esther Boix.
