Opinió Quiral Colloquim: The rise of medical chatbots and AI-based health and wellbeing apps

On 21 October, the Quiral 2026 Report, entitled Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare: Public Opinion and Communication, was presented. It is the result of a joint project between the Vila Casas Foundation and the Centre for the Study of Science, Communication and Society at Pompeu Fabra University (CCS-UPF).

Based on the topic analysed in this report, we are organising two colloquia. The first colloquium is entitled “The Rise of Medical Chatbots and AI-Based Health and Wellbeing Apps” and will take place on Wednesday 25 November 2026 at 5.00 pm at Espais Volart (C/Ausiàs Marc, 22, 08010, Barcelona).

On this occasion, we will be joined by Mr Manuel Armanyones, Professor of Behavioural Design at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), and Mr Joan Guanyabens, Director of the ICT Health and Social Foundation, part of the Department of Health, as speakers. The debate will be introduced by Dr Gema Revuelta, Director of the Centre for Science, Communication and Society Studies (CCS-UPF), and moderated by Dr Miquel Vilardell; both are trustees of the Fundació Privada Antoni Vila Casas. Representing Pompeu Fabra University will be Mr Vladimir de Semir, President of the Centre for Science, Communication and Society Studies (CCS-UPF).
