Sinapsis is an exhibition by the artist Mapi Rivera comprising a selection of 10 visual pieces in various formats accompanied by the projection of the complete series of the same title. Curated by Glòria Bosch and Pere Parramon, the display explores the connection between the sacred and the profane where the artist, by use of her own body, establishes a direct relation with the luminous charge of lightning.
On Saturday 11 March at 12 noon Mapi Rivera will lead a group of the general public on a guided tour of these pieces dating from 2013-2015. They show both the consolidation of a formal approach – portraits in series set in panoramic landscapes – as well as a conceptual exploration – contact with that which goes beyond human knowledge via the union of body and light.
