Espais Volart, Barcelona
Xifra was one of the more significant artists produced by the cross-fertilisation of Catalan and French culture, since he was one of the first artists from the generation of Catalan conceptualism to emigrate to France in the 1960s during Franco’s dictatorship. Back here in Barcelona he was known for being part of the group of Catalan artists in Paris in the 1960s and 70s, as well as for his work on the object, ritual actions and the Scanning project. Jaume Xifra's creative output is provocative in nature while demonstrating both a playful spirit and poetic reflection.
On Thursday 27 June at 7 pm the curator of the exhibition, Pilar Parcerisas, will lead a tour of the exhibition for the general public and guide us through a selection of the artist’s most outstanding pieces.
Prior reservations must be made by either completing the following form or calling 93 481 79 80.
