Johann Sebastian Bach: Prelude and fugue in B flat minor, BWV 867 / Ludwig van Beethoven: Sonata for piano núm. 26 in E flat major «Els adeus», Op. 81a / Johann Sebastian Bach: Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ, BWV 639, arrangement for piano by Ferruccio Busoni / Frédéric Chopin: Fantasia in F minor, Op. 49/ Salvador Brotons: Toccata, Op. 63
From Bach to Brotons explores the bridge that is established between the Baroque composer considered the father of Western music and a key figure in the current Catalan scene. The concert starts with the emotional Prelude and Fugue in B flat minor by Bach and continues with the Sonata for piano núm. 26 in E flat major by Beethoven. Bach follows again, with an arrangement by Ferruccio Busoni, before tackling the imposing Fantasia in F minor by Frédéric Chopin and finishing with the virtuoso Toccata for piano, Op. 63 by Salvador Brotons.
