Jordi Cerdà (Barcelona, 1949) produces re-readings of artistic artefacts with regard to concept, the study of signs and the inheritance of Dadaism, Pop Art and New Realism. Claude Jeanmart works with the interplay of equivalencies, confrontation and interchange in audio-visual media. The two artists have been collaborating for 20 years on their filmic, performative and experimental videos, and have had numerous exhibitions in France and Spain.
Jordi Cerdà will present in the Espai Volart, on 8 November at 6.30 pm, a selection of the most recent work by this creative tandem and also individual pieces. “Exquisite Cadavers and Mirrors” weaves an audio-visual discourse on art, the body, action and reciprocity (using the mirror as a reflective element).
