To this day, the Kingdom of the Two Lands continues to attract visitors and Egyptologists alike, even such a long time since Napoleon’s first trip to Egypt (Kemet) in the 18th and 19th centuries. It really is a never-ending source of archaeological finds and, as Eduard Toda says, “You will never understand history without first learning about Egypt”.
A vast number of literary works and expeditions have helped us learn about Egypt. However, aside from the Pyramids, Sphynx, Tutankhamun, Cleopatra, the Valley of the Kings (Luxor) and the wonderful natural axis that is the river Nile, there are still many areas to be explored to help us understand how the phenomenon emerged and evolved.
Though it may be a unavoidably limited and simplified overview, EGYPT. THE ORIGINS aims to give us an insight into what happened and how it was possible that such a rare event occurred in that geographical location.
