Several activities have been organised in connection with the exhibition “Pere Portabella: Cinema, Art and Politics” in order to provide a fuller picture of the filmmaker via an examination of his output from different viewpoints, giving us a multifaceted and more complete idea of the artist.
The Can Framis Museum is hosting two talks followed by conversation with Pere Portabella featuring two experts on the filmmaker’s work: Marcelo Expósito and Jordi Balló.
The first talk, given by Marcelo Expósito, is titled The Dinner of Marcel Duchamp, Bertolt Brecht, Jean-Luc Godard and Dan Graham with Pere Portabella. Expósito is an artist, educationalist, essayist, activist and politician. He is part of the MACBA’s Programa d’Estudis Independents (PEI
) and edited the anthology Pere Portabella. Historias sin argumento (2001), based on the Portabella retrospective at the MACBA which he curated. He has recently published the books Walter Benjamin, productivista (2013) and Conversación con Manuel Borja Villel (2015). He is currently Member of the Spanish Congress of Deputies for Barcelona and Third Secretary.
