Frank Horvat (1928) is one of the greatest living photographers. His work has gone through many phases until becoming completely contemporary with itself. From his early photo reportage up to his more personal projects via fashion and art photography, erotica or landscape, the work of Frank Horvat is that of a chameleon hoping to pass unnoticed so as to be completely free when taking its photographs: polymorphic, multifaceted, unpredictable, alive, his work always captivates due to the originality of its point of view and the variety of its interests. For this reason he has conscientiously steered away from any ideas of style and has reinvented himself in each new undertaking.
All this will be the subject of a talk with Àlex Susanna, poet, art critic and exhibition curator, expert on the work of Frank Horvat, on which he has written various essays. He has recently curated exhibitions of work by Maillol (Kunshal in Rotterdam and Museu Marès in Barcelona), Enkaoua (Museu de Montserrat) and Todó (Fundació Vila Casas). He is the curator of the Guinovat Year and is currently preparing an exhibition on Rodin and Maillol.
