Despite the encouraging news that we often hear about advances in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, the truth is that for the moment there is no way of either preventing or curing it. Current treatment concentrates mainly on improving both the patient’s and the carer’s quality of life, while delaying as far as possible cognitive decline and attending to changes in behaviour and further complications of the disease. The aim of this encounter was to determine in detail the present situation of the multidisciplinary treatment of Alzheimer’s and lines of on-going research.
