Antoni Marquès (Sabadell, 1956), who trained in Barcelona and Paris, defined and established his own unique artistic personality in the 1980's. Using a process of “found form”, the artist takes inspiration from brightly coloured everyday objects which become vehicles for his vibrant work with an ironic slant. This exhibition, curated by the Fundació Vila Casas director of art Glòria Bosch, revives the spirit of Duchamp and, with a title referring to a show held in the Pompidou centre in Paris in 1986, presents his latest sculptural work; a light-hearted refection on the nature of sculpture in our time.
