St George and the dragon are at the Can Mario Museum for a series of events celebrating the day. The museum is holding an Open Doors Day, 11 am-2 pm: 4.30 pm-8.30 pm, offering the chance to see the building’s unique architecture, visit the current temporary exhibitions and view the sculpture collection.
For children, the museum has organised several art workshops over the weekend (Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm) where each child can take a dragon home with them. The youngest can colour one, while older children will be able to make a dragon that breaths fire and later take it home. On the way out there are dragon masks for everyone!
The activity at the Can Mario Museum is part of a joint initiative with the Cork Museum and the Fundació Josep Pla. If you would like to enter a cultural raffle, ask for a Tarjeta Sant Jordi at any of the three sites; have it stamped; take it to the Palafrugell Municipal Theatre and enter a draw for free tickets for the cinema or theatre. Prizes are four cinema tickets, four tickets for a show by La Xarxa, and four tickets for a children’s show at the Cap Roig Festival.
