Taking the book as an object representing Sant Jordi’s Day, the Can Framis Museum is putting on an activity for children which offers an approach to the Can Framis collection via books.
By focusing on pieces in the collection which are more obviously related to the world of books, such as Letterscape.Ícaro (2002) by Mar Arza and Llibres (2009) by Isidre Tolosa, children can see how some contemporary artists take books, as well as literature and mythology, as their starting point when creating their works. After a short tour of the museum’s galleries to view the pieces connected with literature, there will be a workshop session where each child will, using various techniques and supports, produce their own artist’s book.
