Xavier Prat (Miraflores, Lima, 1957 – Barcelona 2007) was a Peruvian-born Catalan artist whose prolific, yet until recently little-known artistic output focuses on the city of Barcelona. The display Y en otra ciudad también amanece, curated by Sergio Vila Sanjuán, brings together a selection of some 60 works consisting of paintings and drawings with a surrealist feel, monochrome figures in seascapes and love scenes in urban landscapes freighted with unreality and myth.
On Wednesday 12 July at 6 pm the curator will lead a tour of the exhibition for the general public and guide us through a selection of the artist’s most outstanding pieces.
