Palau Solterra, Torroella de Montgrí
Palau Solterra is hosting for the first time in one of its galleries part of the 5th Torroella de Montgrí Photographic Views Festival, running this year from 1 to 24 April, and which consists of a total of 25 exhibitions located in Torroella, l’Estartit, La Bisbal and Ullà.
The display at Palau Solterra, entitled Geografies, features work by the photographer Josep Guiolà. This self-taught enthusiast of analogue photography deploys his materials on photographic paper to achieve a result which ushers us into his personal and magic world where the artist uses his camera to capture reality only to later degrade, disfigure and diffuse it.
To coincide with the opening of the festival, a tour of the various exhibition sites has been arranged which at 12.30 pm will arrive at Palau Solterra where Vicenç Rovira, president of the Torroella de Montgrí Friends of Photography Association, will lead a guided visit of the display.
